UNDAF outcome

By end 2012, institutional, legal and financial systems in place for Romania to implement a "new model of development cooperation" in line with applicable OECD-DAC standards and responding to the evolution of the global aid architecture, in pursuit of active implementation by Romania of the Paris Aid Effectiveness Declaration (2010-2012).

Aid effectiveness and relevance of Romania's international development cooperation programmes, including its ODA, strengthened (2010-2012).

Support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop its capacity in the field of Crises Prevention and Recovery in view of setting up the institutional framework that will ensure the sustainability of efforts in the field

The UNDP will support the MFA in the implementation of a training programme in the field of reconstruction and development. The programme is intended to support post-conflict reconstruction and recovery efforts in the priority regions and countries of Romania's international development cooperation policy.

Project Objectives

The general objective of the project is to develop the capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of Crises Prevention and Recovery in view of setting up the institutional framework of the Romanian Training Centre for Post-conflict Reconstruction that will ensure the sustainability of efforts in the field.

The ultimate objective of the training programme is to enhance the capacities of actors in the field to respond to the multi-dimensional needs of post-conflict recovery and reconstruction.

Expected Output & Planned Activities


Implementation of the Specialised Training Programme on "Post-Conflict Recovery and Reconstruction - key challenges and responses". The 5-day training targets practitioners of post-conflict recovery as well as civilians and military actors in recovery and reconstruction.
